Additional Information
Teaching Sessions
Lesson dates follow the CHCCS calendar, and the following apply for each day of the week:
FALL SEMESTER
- Monday students begin on Sept. 8 and end on Jan. 5
- Tuesday students begin on Sept. 2 and end on Dec. 16
- Wednesday students begin on Sept. 3 and end on Jan. 7
- Thursday students begin on Sept. 4 and end on Jan. 8
- Friday students begin on Sept. 5 and end on Jan. 9
SPRING SEMESTER
- Monday students begin on Jan. 12 and end on May 11
- Tuesday students begin on Jan. 6 and end on April 28
- Wednesday students begin on Jan. 14 and end on May 6
- Thursday students begin on Jan. 15 and end on May 7
- Friday students begin on Jan. 16 and end on May 8
SUMMER LESSONS
- 10 summer lessons are required between the end of the spring semester and the beginning of the fall 2009 semester (Monday, August 31, 2009) which will be scheduled at mutually convenient times during the summer.
Holidays
The following national holidays will be observed which coincide with the Chapel Hill Carroboro City School calendar (ie., there will be no lessons on these days).
Fall Session 2008
- Sept. 1: Labor Day
- Nov. 26-29: Thanksgiving Holiday
- Dec. 22 - Jan. 3: Winter Break
Spring Session 2009
- Jan. 19: Martin Luther King Birthday
- Apr. 6-11: Spring Break
- May 23-25: Memorial Day
NOTE: Teacher Workdays or Utility Days are not considered holidays and lessons will be held as usual (except for the day prior to Thanksgiving). Please note the teaching sessions and holidays in your personal/family calendar, DayTimer, PalmPilot, etc.
